There’s still a PPE shortage — and a second wave could send medical workers into crisis mode

Massachusetts is well into its plan for reopening. Businesses have opened, and hospitals have resumed nonessential elective procedures. The PPE supply chain crisis may seem like an issue of the past to you. However, many essential workers are still unable to receive the protective equipment necessary to safely perform their jobs. Some workers are forced to wear a mask over multiple shifts; rain ponchos are being supplemented for gowns. Some workers are even buying PPE equipment themselves.
